My trip to Berlin was gripping. The city has perennial reminders of the atrocities of Second World War. During this trip, I had time to reflect on what human beings are capable of and that we have to constantly be on guard of the things that happen around us.

I also spent some time visiting magnificent pieces of architecture like the Humboldt University. Albert Einstein taught at this university.

Bergen, Norway

After Oslo, I caught the train and traveled westward to the second largest city of Norway, which is Bergen. This is officially my favourite city in Scandinavia. There weren't many tourists so you can explore the city without having to worry about big crowds like other cities in Europe. The city is surrounded by mountains which is why it is called the 'city of seven mountains.' As such, the views are spectacular.
I was walking along the harbour one afternoon when I saw some people rushing to get on the commuter ferry. It looked like they just finished work and about to go home.

Oslo, Norway

Oslo is a nice city to explore. There a quite a number of historical facts behind certain sculpture or monuments. For example, the 'hand' sculpture or 'hand fountain' was where King Christian IV decided to rebuild the city after a big fire in the 17th century. He pointed at this spot and said "The new town will lie here."
I got bored at my Airbnb so I went for a walk in the middle of the night in Oslo. There was a lot of snow everywhere, a lot more than Stockholm. â€‹This looked like a park that was covered in snow. It was a cold and lonely night.

Aarhus, Denmark

This is the second largest city of Denmark after Copenhagen. There's this competition between Aarhus and Copenhagen residents about what the better is. I got asked more in Aarhus than Copehagen about this question. I would reply that the best university is here (referring to Aarhus University where Prince Frederik went) so yes Aarhus is the best. 
It was open mic night when we went to this pub so I was the drummer for the night. Well, for a few minutes.

Copenhagen, Denmark

I had a great time in Copenhagen. If there is one word I can describe it, it would be SAFE. I would visit a lot of places around the city that I lost track of time. I would find myself walking to my Airbnb in the middle of the night and ordering Danish hotdogs on the way home. Probably, the only exception was when I went to Freetown Christiania where the smell of weed was very strong. It's a small community known for its liberated Danish lifestyle. It was a very interesting place.
I was warming up with afternoon tea at Espresso House when this parade happened.

    About my travels

    I have travelled around Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the Philippines. I learned a lot of things about people and how we're all the same but different on many things. I learned valuable lessons from my experiences. I learned from my mistakes. I made some good decisions too. I hope that the tips that I give you here will help you with your next travel.
